Hey guys!
The Vizro team is excited to announce that we have been working on and have now published a MCP server that allows:
- creation of Vizro (and thus Dash) apps from any MCP compatible host (Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.)
- creation of charts that adhere to the Vizro design template, and take care of data wrangling for you
Benefits include:
One consistent framework for charts and dashboards with one common design language.
Validated config output that is readable and easy to alter or maintain.
Live preview of the dashboard to iterate the design until the dashboard is perfect.
Use of local or remote datasets simply by providing a path or URL.
For those that are not familiar with MCP (model context protocol) - we recommend checking out their official website. In short, think of it as an upcoming standard that let’s users of LLMs connect any published tool (e.g. file search, git committing, google drive upload) from any vendor/technology (e.g. Gmail, Slack, Git) to any compatible LLM app (Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.).
And now one of those tools is the vizro-mcp server!
