Hi community,

I am excited to share my new Dash app: the IMDb Analytics Dashboard. Explore how movie ratings, genres, and runtimes have changed over the years. Check it out and see what trends you can find.

Visualizations:

  • Top-rated movies based on your filters

  • Genre popularity and ratings over time

  • Movie runtime distribution and its relation to ratings

  • Yearly trends in movie releases and ratings

Filters:

  • Release year range

  • Genre multi select

  • Runtime range

  • Rating range

The UI uses Dash Mantine Components and the backend is optimized with caching and BigQuery. I would like to hear your feedback on the user experience and the visualizations.

@Alfredo49 I like your app.

For the first graph, I wonder if it would make sense to allow the user to chose the minimum amount of votes because a movie with 9.7 average rating with 1074 votes is not necessarily better than a movie with 9.3 average rating with more than 3 million votes.
