We are looking for a key member of our newly formed Data Operations team to join our company as the Senior Data Scientist. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of a company-wide data system from the ground up. As the Senior Data Scientist, you will first help the team set up the new infrastructure by cataloging data, creating pipelines, processing and cleaning data, and extracting preliminary actionable insights. Once the system is in place, you will develop machine learning models and perform predictive analytics to help us unlock business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work with the newly formed data team to design a company wide data system from the ground up by integrating enterprise cloud data platform tools.
- Catalog data to manage metadata standardization.
- Develop pipelines to bring data assets into a modern data management platform.
- Perform transformation and cleaning operations on the data to create quality tiers.
- Perform data analysis and visualizations to identify and track insightful metrics.
- Use machine learning to segment customers and to account for seasonality in data.
- Independently uncover business opportunities with predictive analytics.
- Work with the team to automate communication and reporting of key metrics across the organization to align vision around quantifiable goals.
- Work with the team to integrate models, visualizations, and reporting tools into web applications for internal customers.
Skills :
- 5+ years experience with creating data pipelines, transforming, and cleaning data.
- 4+ years experience developing machine learning models including unsupervised learning and clustering.
- Familiarity with data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders for data cataloging and metadata management.
- Ability to process large datasets, uncover patterns, and create predictive models.
- Expertise with Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn, SQL, and R.
- Familiarity with statistical methods, data analysis, and visualization tools (such as Plotly, Looker, PowerBI, or similar).
- Familiarity with enterprise cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, or Dataiku).
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Ability to work proactively with a small team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have :
- Familiarity with Dash app development.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience in e-commerce
- Experience working with international teams
- Experience working in a startup or scale up environment
