Data Science Workflow Engineer

Maintain and optimize a new informatics pipeline: Execute construction of a relational database integrating different forms of biological data. Enable at-scale analytics for R&D: develop workflows for integrating biological data, work with Bio- and Cheminformatics Data Scientists incorporate new analyses into workflows.

Required Proficiencies:

  • Python data science skills (Jupyter, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, SQLAlchemy)
  • SQL and PostgreSQL database administration
  • Familiarity with Unix/shell environment
  • Version control with Git
  • Software containerization with Docker

Preferred:

  • Experience in creating web-based dashboards with Plotly Dash or R-Shiny
  • Experience in creating dashboards and visualizations using Spotfire
  • Practical cloud computing experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with DNA/protein sequences data and using bioinformatics tools such as BLAST
  • Understanding of chemistry and experience with cheminformatics tools such as OEChem or RDKit
