I was wondering why https://cdn.plot.ly/plotly-latest.min.js is still 1.58.5 version, whereas we would expect it to be a 2.X version, as right now on github it is v2.8.3 which is the latest (Release v2.8.3 · plotly/plotly.js · GitHub) ?
All the examples from the doc are based on plotly-latest (1.58.5).

I was searching for information on 1.58.5 because I happen to have a copy that I’m still using on an old site.
Two surprising things:

1.58.5 doesn’t appear among releases either for plotly.js-dist at npmjs or among the release tags at github for plotly/plotly.js.
-
https://cdn.plot.ly/plotly-latest.min.js is still 1.58.5
