When layout hovermode = 'x unified', traces arranged in order vs top trace to lower trace

In switching the layout hovermode to ‘x unified’, noticed that the traces are arranged in order versus from highest to lowest trace value. For example, in plotting temperature values in a time series, the highest value is 90 and the lowest is 75. When hovermode is ‘x’, that’s how the hoverlabels are displayed for the 20 traces. However, when hovermode is ‘x unified’, trace 20 is at the top and trace 1 is at the bottom instead of being arranged by highest temperature value to lowest. I couldn’t find a reason for this nor could I find an option on how to change it to the way hovermode ‘x’ displays it. For my application, it makes more sense to display it by trace value vs sorted trace index.

Actually, when I opt to hovermode=‘x unified’, the values in hoverlabel is fixed according to the value squence of the last value points. This squence does not change when moving cursor along the traces.

I also need more options in hoverlabel like “max_to_min” and ‘min_to_max’.

Thank you.
