Hide Selected Time-Series in Plot's Initial State with Click-to-Show Feature

I have a timeseries plot with numerous series. The plot is too populated when everything is plotted. Is there any setting that would result in a graph (at its initial state) containing all the series, but having a few selected of those showing up ONLY in the legend (greyed out) so that the viewer can click on the ones they desire to show up?

For example, in the following simplified chart with 2 series, I would like to go from:

to the following (at its initial state):

Any help (Python code or JSON tree equivalent) would be appreciated. Thank you!

There is a display control for the graph, so if it is not displayed initially, it will only appear in the legend. See this reference for examples.
