Have I misunderstood the use?

I’ve been checking plotly out for use in academic purposes.

One thing that I don’t seem to get my head around is how you’re supposed to save plots that you make?

I’m only able to save relatively low res images - way below what would be suitable for a print.

I really would like to export my plot into true vector graphics, like PDF. The SVG image I managed to export was really just an image embedded into the SVG file.

The idea is that I’m supposed to pay $1000 to print the plot? In an open source library for an open source software ®?

Anyone who can point me to the right direction, or is there really no way of using plotly for publications?
