Default Button for Rangeselector?

Does anyone know how to set the default RangeSelector button in python?

This link tells you how to do it in js: RangeSelector change Default value
Active is not an acceptable argument in python though.

Any suggestions? I know can just make a button, but this is so slick it would be a shame not to use.
