Job Summary
This position serves as a key role in research/development of volume and revenue forecast models for UPS products/services. You will be a vital to the innovation of UPS forecasting. Our research and modeling support a team with $50B+ in revenue forecasting annually. You are an expert in Machine Learning, Deep Learning or High Frequency forecasting who is enthusiastic working with large time-series datasets. The incumbent will help us create our next generation of forecast models and socialization tools. You have experience with Deep Learning, but also know classical time series approaches. You are enthusiastic about modeling but also at investigating external signals and their interactions.
Responsibilities
- Researches cutting edge advances in time series forecasting methodologies and apply them to improve UPS forecasting
- Improves existing methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, running computational experiments, and fine-tuning model parameters for new forecasting models
- Works with internal data engineering and IT teams to curate/improve internal data ETL processes for forecasting
- Sifts through large sets of data to investigate features and signals that might be good predictors
- Evaluates external data sources on an ongoing basis to improve accuracy and understanding of estimates
- Creates socialization processes to share forecasts with stakeholders in an efficient, interpretable, easy to understand manner (dashboard tooling experience via. Plotly Dash)

- Demonstrates experience with building PowerPoint presentations and interactive dashboards where quantitative results are reviewed
- Minimum 4 years’ of experience in predictive modeling utilizing machine learning
- Experience in time series forecasting (both classical and deep learning methods)
- Possesses experience with managing large datasets (billions of rows)
- Possesses advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or other analytical field with minimum 2 years of related work experience
- Proficient with Python; Mastery of SQL and experience with Plotly Dash/Streamlit or other visualization software
- PHD/Master’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree)
