Browser cache for layout images

I am using plotly with voila to render dashboards in a browser. Many of the figures have static background images with stable urls but they are downloaded each time. Is there a way to make plotly use the browser’s cache for these layout images.

I ran into the same issue, I would love some kind of cache header to be set on the images so that the browser would cache them for me. Currently I have created my own mechanism for downloading images and caching them myself to avoid the need to download each time. I then just serve the base64 data for each image when it is needed to be rendered
