'Always On' Z-Spikes for all points on Scatter3D

Hello,

The Scatter3D is extremely useful when used interactively, but when trying to share a captured image, you lose perspective.

I was curious if anyone knew a way to easily drop a Z-Spike from each point to the X-Y axis. I’m thinking that while it will clutter things somewhat, it will give enough perspective to make it usable as a still image.

I found a reference to setting type=‘h’ to accomplish this in R, but I was unable to find anything like that in Python.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just as a follow up in case this helps anyone, there was currently no built in way to drop spikes from each 3D point, so I just added another trace that was lines down to the XY axis.
