Zoom on ctrl wheel and empty plot

Hello guys!
I need a help! I have two questions!

  1. There’s a way to use the zoom command not on the wheel event but on the ctrl+wheel?

  2. I have a large scale graph that it’s loaded only for a range of dates. With ajax i create the graph on the user interaction. Sometimes happen that the user select a range with no values and Plotly don’t draw the axis and block the user interaction. Is possible to draw a empty graph?
