How to set the aspect ratio equal without constraining the zoom box

Is it possible to set the aspect ratio equal without constraining the zoom box?

The example below fixes the aspect ratio of the zoom box, but I don’t want that.

I’m also interested in that feature but I haven’t been able to find a solution. Did you finally find a way to get this functionality?

I would also like to have this feature: I want the aspect ratio of the plot to be fixed without affecting the aspect ratio of the zoom box. Anyone have a solution?
