How to make local maps in Plotly

Hi there,
I would like to make a map of Portugal with Districts, cities and Statistical Units (NUTSII, NUTSIII).
Is there an easy way to do it? Plotly has only maps for Europe, US and World.

I have the ShapeSpatial files that I use to create the maps in R with the maptools library. Just wondering if those can be imported somehow to Plotly.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion on how to implement this.

We recommend leaflet.js instead for local maps:

https://rstudio.github.io/leaflet/

Plotly’s mapping abilities are more “macro”, akin to the Python basemap library.

Thanks Jack,
But how do I get a map for Portugal and it’s NUTSIII regions? I do have he,sphp files but that is all.
Best regards,
J.
