extendTraces slows entire app

I’m using extendTraces to add new streaming data points to my plot. New points arrive every second. Over time (when it gets up to the 2,000th add) the app starts to run slow. Plotly becomes laggy, the zoom tool is slow, the control bar tools are slow.

I’ve see this post but it is old. Has this been addressed?

When you say app, are you referring to a dash app?
