Delete/erase/make invisible Rectangle drawn in mapbox plot

Hello, I have a project where I start with a mapbox plot of the whole world. I have the drawRect modebar enable. I would like to be able to allow a user to draw a rectangle, I extract data in the callback, and then I erase or delete or make the rectangle drawn invisible. There anyway to do do that?
