Data upload error with CSV files

I just created a new free Plotly account, but seem to be unable to upload any data. I’ve tried multiple different CSV files, and every upload attempt resulted in one of two errors: “Unsupported media type ‘application/octet-stream’ in request.” or “Unknown”. I’m familiar with data analysis and i’ve ensured that all CSV files are properly formatted and also properly encoded. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
