Job Summary. The Junior Data Engineer will contribute to the development, maintenance, and oversight of software applications, encompassing both frontend and backend (database) systems. A significant portion of this role will also involve leveraging data analytics software to perform research, analysis, and visualization derived from diverse databases.

Full-Stack Software Development

· Assist in the development of new application features, involving both frontend and backend integration.

· Develop and maintain APIs to direct and organize the transfer of data between frontend and backend systems.

· Develop and maintain databases in both development and production environments, supporting efforts to resolve database discrepancies, optimize queries, etc.

· Utilize state management libraries such as RTK query and Redux to manage application state and organize the flow of data.

Data Collection & Analysis

· Assist with the completion of both internal and external data requests.

· Provide internal and external technical assistance regarding data and analytics.

· Utilize data analytics software – Python, Pandas, Dash, etc. – to perform data collection, processing, analysis and visualization on a variety of datasets.

· Assist in the development of features and insights in data dashboard applications for internal and external data requests.

· Perform statistical modelling to draw insights from the data and provide recommendations.

Communication

· Assist in developing presentations, reports, and dashboards that communicate the key insights of analysis to stakeholders and the public.

· Contribute effectively in data-oriented internal meetings with staff, including managing project time efficiently and collaborating to meet project objectives.

Other

· Partner on and/or lead data-driven regional initiatives and work groups.

· Participate in a range of planning activities, including research, data collection, meeting and interacting with local regional stakeholders, working on projects as assigned, and involvement in day-to-day functions.

  • Attend onsite and offsite meetings within the RPC service area, including occasional evenings and weekends.

· Maintain a professional office setting through cleanliness, organization, and demeanor.

· Works collaboratively with others to ensure the success and achievement by colleagues’ in the fulfillment of RPC priorities.
