Main responsibilities

Development

  • Work closely with the team to gather requirements and take ownership for the development of bespoke technology solutions to assist with their investment research process
  • Implement software engineering best practices and develop high quality code
  • Collaborate with the team to help develop alpha generating proprietary trading signals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Analytics and front office tools

  • Automate data retrieval and custom analytics in various delivery formats that combine internal and external data sources
  • Take ownership of the development infrastructure required by the above
  • Participating in the investment process by helping designing new interactive tools as well as ad hoc analysis

Experience required

Required experience:

  • Proficient in code design and programming skills, with primary focus on Python

  • Mathematically minded with exposure to financial mathematical theory and statistics

  • Demonstrable quantitative and problem-solving skills as well as research skills

Desirable experience:

  • Advanced degree (MSc or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a similar field
  • Previous experience working within a trading operation, preferably energy or other commodity trading, with a full understanding of the trade life cycle
  • Experience designing front office visualisation tools (previous Plotly/Dash experience is a plus)
  • Understanding of financial products, preferably including derivatives and options.

Technical requirements

Essential technical skills:

  • Python is our primary development language
  • SQL Databases : Oracle, MS SQL Server
  • Source Control Management (GIT)

Desirable technical skills:

  • Plotly/Dash
  • Linux
