The Front-End Developer is an integral member of Plotly’s marketing team, as you will be responsible for bringing Plotly’s demand generation and digital strategy to life across Plotly.com and our other digital touchpoints. You will also be responsible for owning the Plotly.com web platform and our regional sites.

The right candidate for this position is a detailed, organized self-starter with experience and a passion for building engaging digital experiences from concept to launch. Ideally looking for a developer with 4 or more years of experience and a strong eye for design. And equally important, you are willing to work collaboratively with the Marketing and Engineering teams to dive in to understand and solve technical problems.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update Plotly.com and our other digital properties
  • Develop and maintain a flexible and well-structured web architecture
  • Work in a team environment with shared code; disciplined use of source code control and process documentation
  • Build engaging and interactive web pages in Prismic, that are optimized to be mobile responsive and SEO friendly
  • Manage digital projects from scoping/requirements gathering, all the way through sign-off, QA, launch, and ongoing optimization

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in front-end web development with strong hand-coding experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to follow and produce documentation instructions
  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and seek answers autonomously before asking colleagues for help
  • Can drive the full architecture and development cycle of large feature improvements or refactorings
  • Collaborative within the team and across the whole company
  • Self-starter, you enjoy moving at a fast pace, shipping software that improves the user experience and constantly improving your work with little supervision

Nice to Haves

  • BA/BS Computer Science, Graphic Design, or Engineering
  • Experience with backend technologies like Docker is a plus
  • Experience with optimizing pages for conversion and demand generation
  • Prior experience with maintaining and optimizing digital properties for SEO
  • Prior experience with website analytic tools (e.g. Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager)
  • Prior experience with coding email templates
