Job Description
External Manufacturing Production team (EMP) is a department within Global External Manufacturing and Sourcing (GEMS) chartered with enabling world-class collaboration and execution with our 3rd party Foundry, Assembly and Test suppliers.
EMP seeks a dynamic Operational Analytics Data Engineer in the Manufacturing Data Analytics team (MDA) for, but not limited to:

  • Delivering Operational Analytics and Automation solutions in partnership with business subject matter experts and super users to solve complex problems and developing an effective analytics self-service community within the business.
  • Designing and applying leading Data Analytics solutions to influence how the business groups in EMP use analytics as an integral ingredient to a world class Manufacturing organization.
  • Drive Analytics processes, documentation and governance.
  • Drive Data Infrastructure and best practices for data pipelines.
  • Developing algorithms and mathematical models, performing experimentation and building data driven apps to translate data into intelligence
  • Solve a variety of business problems and enable business strategy.
  • Delivering data engineering and automation capabilities that enable analytics solution.
  • Enabling EMP wide data culture through engagements with customers, educating them on technical capabilities available and facilitating data accessibility and awareness initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, motivated and have a strong affinity to data with proven experience in delivering analytics and data solutions within the supply chain domain. You will join the team as a Data Engineer supporting globally dispersed EMP organizations.
We work in SCRUM. We tackle different projects, and we all contribute across all of our skillsets. One day, you may create a python package from and advanced analytics model that our data scientist developers. Another day, you may create SQL stored procedures to transform data that was sourced from different sources. You may even create pipelines in Azure using Azure Data Factory. If you have the ability, you may create/modify dashboards that were created in Plotly/Dash or PowerBi. If you like working in different domains, this is the place for you. We want someone inquisitive, ready to take on new challenges, and willing to help the team in many capacities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics/Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics
  • 5 + years of experience in:
  • Proficiency with real-world experience, and areas Business Intelligence products.
  • Cleansing and transforming data
  • Developing BI models and solutions using Microsoft BI stack Power BI On Premise Cloud
  • ETL techniques traditional cloud DAX SQL Studio
  • Extracting data from different sources including Excel, REST APIs, different databases
  • Large data set manipulation
  • Azure Data Platform including Synapse/SQL/DataLake, LogicApps, Data Factory
  • Statistics and analytics to find patterns and relationships in data
  • Creation of data models and visualizations to tell a compelling story and interpret the results that will enable others to drive change and action to drive business optimizations
  • Predictive modeling statistics Machine Learning Data Mining and other data analysis techniques to collect explore and extract insights from structure and unstructured data.
  • Analytics languages and frameworks such as Python, R
  • Experience with production pipelines for SQL and Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in Supply Chain is preferred
  • Hands on experience with Agile Development methodology and framework
