Dash 4.0.0 rc1 with refreshed dcc.Dropdown now available

Hi folks,

We’ve just published Dash v4.0.0rc1 to PyPI, which contains a dropdown which has been rebuilt from the ground up. We released the first version, with a redesigned dcc.Input, dcc.Slider, and dcc.RangeSlider last week. If you missed the announcement, here’s the release: Dash 4.0.0rc with refreshed Dash Core Components now available

Take a look at the new components and try them out in your apps: Our goal is complete backwards compatibility, so if you have any issues integrating the components, don’t hesitate to file an issue or leave notes in this thread.

The new dcc.Dropdown is fantastic. Below is another gif showing off how the input field looks great in various screen sizes when many options are selected.

I encourage everyone to take the new dcc components for a spin. This is the ideal time to get involved: the work is active and feedback now can influence the final release much more directly than later.

It’s easy, just

pip install dash==4.0.0rc1
