Value of dropdown on a page dependent on page through which it has launched

Say for example we have a export page and country pages. Export page display export specific to the country selected on the top of export page.

We have five countries page say A, B , C, D and E. Every country has a link to go to export page.

we want a functionality that if we land into export page through the link from country A, A should be automatically selected in in the dropdown and similarly from another country page.

Looking forward for your suggestions.

Can you use dcc.Location as an input in the callback for the dropdown value? And put the country in the URL when you link to the export page?
