Programatically update dashboards

It’s documented how to create a dashboard (http://help.plot.ly/dashboards.ly/#api), but is it possible to update/override an existing dashboard if the URL is already known?

Use the V2 API and V2 dashboards instead:

https://api.plot.ly/v2/dashboards#create

@Adam is working on a Python wrapper for this that will make dashboard creating and updating easier - stay tuned.

Here’s a guide to using the V2 API generally in Python (also by @Adam):

Hey there,

The Dashboard API is ready! Just install the latest version of plotly (2.0.5) and you should be good to go. (Here’s the CHANGELOG).

We’re working on adding support docs for the dashboards right now, but if you want to get your feet or hands wet right away, you can get some documentation from the module itself. Run:

import plotly.plotly as py
help(py.dashboard_ops)

and

import plotly.dashboard_objs as dashboard
help(dashboard)
