Why is my projection confined to such a small area when the containing div is so large? How can I make this plot fill more of this space?

The example in the documentation illustrates pretty well, zoom in on the projection and you can see how small the rect is - how would I go about making that bigger?
Playing around with lonaxis.range and lataxis.range (e.g. https://codepen.io/etpinard/pen/ePbPdm) should help out.
